After graduating from the University of Nebraska, School of Dentistry in 1972, Dr. Gatto and his wife, Emily, departed for a two-year tour of duty in the United States Air Force Dental Corp. They were stationed at Grisham Air Force Base, Indiana until May of 1974 when the University of Minnesota Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery accepted Dr. Gatto for residency training. Following the residency training, he started a full time faculty position as an assistant professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Later he was granted an assistant professorship in the Department of Anesthesia in the School of Medicine. After seven years of full time service in the residency program, Dr. Gatto was then named acting graduate director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program. Along with these duties, he ventured into private practice in the Maplewood area in July of 1984. Approximately four years later, he left his position at the University of Minnesota to enter full time private practice, and was joined by Dr. Marshall Wade. He has practiced the full scope of the specialty of oral and maxillofacial surgery and has been active in a number of local, regional and national organizations. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and was named a Top Dentist by Minneapolis-St. Paul Magazine. He was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and following graduation in 1972 he was married to his wife, Emily. They raised two children, who are now grown and on their own. Dr. and Mrs. Gatto currently reside in the White Bear Lake area of St. Paul. They enjoy a number of activities together, including travel, hiking, fine dining, and especially the never-ending challenge to master the game of golf.
Dr.
Wade graduated with honors from the University of Iowa College of
Dentistry in 1984. He completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial
Surgery at the University of Minnesota in 1987. He joined Dr. Gatto
in practice in 1988. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral
and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Dr. Wade is the founder and director
of True North Professional Studies, the continuing education study
group for area dentists and dental specialists. This outstanding
group or practitioners was awarded the Seattle Study Club of the
Year in 2001. The mission of this group is to improve patient care
through education and sharing of advanced dental techniques. In the United States, Dr. Wade's passion lies in the field of dental implants. He has completed extensive continuing education in Implantology and is recognized as an authority in this rapidly growing discipline. Dr. Wade has been married to his wife, Terri, for over 30 years. They have three children and reside in Arden Hills.
Dr. Paul Vollmer, born and raised in the St. Louis, area completed his undergraduate studies and entered dental school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. After receiving his D.D.S degree he moved to the Twin Cities for a general practice residency at Hennepin County Medical Center. Following this program he began his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota, completing it in 1997. He returns to the Twin Cities with the experience of working in private practices in St. Louis and Sioux Falls. Dr. Vollmer earned his certification as a member of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999. He is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a member of the Minnesota Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Dental Association. Dr Vollmer and his son reside in the Stillwater area.
Dr. Cassandra Stacy, born and raised in Hazard, Kentucky, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky, graduating Magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. She entered dental school at the University of Kentucky and was awarded her DMD degree in 2001. She came to Minnesota to begin her Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota; completing it in 2005. Dr. Stacy has received numerous awards and honors both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She currently is a fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the American Dental Association.
